Acrolinx IQ is based on an open client-server architecture, ensuring easy integration in any information development environment. The server offers centralized resources that help content creators with spelling, grammar, style, terminology and content reuse through various interfaces. Acrolinx IQ functionality is available via plug-ins for many popular authoring environments, as a stand-alone client for batch checking and through a Windows-based clipboard checker. Additionally, our Acrolinx IQ SDK allows custom integrations to support any other tools you may use.

Acrolinx IQ Plug-ins

Acrolinx IQ Plug-ins allow linguistic checking directly within authoring applications. Users can perform checks during content creation and Acrolinx IQ will flag any spelling, grammar, style, terminology or content reuse issues and provide feedback for correction.

Acrolinx IQ Desktop Checker

The Acrolinx IQ Desktop Checker is an easy to use utility that works with text-based Windows applications. The Acrolinx IQ Desktop Checker checks content copied to the clipboard from any application. Simply copy some content and click the Acrolinx IQ icon in the Windows system tray to check the clipboard contents for spelling, grammar, style, terminology and content reuse issues.

Acrolinx IQ Batch Checker

The Acrolinx IQ Batch Checker is a stand-alone application for checking multiple documents in a directory or a directory structure, without opening them in an editor. The Acrolinx IQ Batch Checker provides the same checking options as Acrolinx IQ Plug-ins.

Authoring Support Batch Checker

The Acrolinx IQ Batch Checker allows checking of:

  • Text (UTF-8, UTF-16, WINDOWS-1252, ISO-8859-1, EUC-JP, Shift_JIS, US-ASCII)
  • HTML (Check website content quality)
  • XML (Check structured content from various sources, e.g. DITA, TMX, XLIFF, etc.)
  • PDF (Check legacy/published content, e.g. marketing collateral)

You can also use the Batch Checker to evaluate the quality of particular projects. Managers can generate reports from content that has been checked with the Batch Checker to determine project readiness for publication or translation. This can help drive smart business decisions based on quality standards.
