Berlin, January 30, 2007. acrocheck™, the quality assurance tool from acrolinx, is being certified by TÜV, the global leader in technical inspection services. The decisive question: does acrocheck™ meet the requirements of the TÜV SÜD DocCert? If the test goes well, acrocheck™ users will be able to check and apply selected DocCert standards to their documentation. The certification results are expected at the end of February.

Increased interest in quality and translatable writing

Many companies have experienced high costs in translation and technical support caused by inconsistent terminology and different linguistic patterns. For this reason, consistency and language quality are becoming increasingly important. The quality assurance software acrocheck™ by acrolinx and DocCert, the TÜV SÜD testing and certification program, are enjoying great success. DocCert was developed in the 90s in cooperation with tekom e.V. and since this time has undergone continuous further development by the TÜV SÜD DocLab. acrocheck™ is a new software solution which effectively supports editors in conforming to linguistic standards and consistent terminology.

DocCert rule set planned beginning in March

Beginning in March a TÜV certified DocCert rule set will be available for acrocheck™. The rule set checks texts according to the DocCert standards catalogue for linguistic structure. acrocheck™ will then be able to check between 15 and 25 text-related specific requirements from the DocCert testing program . In addition, the DocCert requirements in the DocCert quality circle will continue to be developed further together with TÜV. “This way smaller companies will also be able to make use of linguistic authoring support,” says Oliver Collmann of acrolinx. “Until now the structure of controlled language systems was associated with large expenditures of time and effort because there were very few standards for rules and software.”
