Seattle, STC, May 10, 2005. acrolinx announced today support in acrocheck™ for the new ASD-STE100™ (pending) simplified English standard.

“We typically customize acrocheck™ for each customer’s particular requirements, but increasingly we are seeing the need to support Simplified English (SE) for customers from sectors where there are formal compliance issues. We have therefore built a generic Simplified English version of acrocheck™, as well as a version to support ASD-STE100.” reported Andrew Bredenkamp, CEO of acrolinx.
Simplified English was developed to help the users of English-language documentation in the aerospace sector understand what they read, particularly in multinational programs. ASD-STE100™ is a set of Writing Rules and a Dictionary of controlled vocabulary. The Dictionary has sufficient words to express any technical information. The words were chosen for their simplicity and ease of recognition.
