IQ a Major Success in San Jose

Thirty-seven Attendees from 14 Companies Attend this Year's User Conference

San Jose, CA. June 24, 2009. Thirty-seven attendees from 14 companies participated in this year's User Conference in San Jose. In addition to usual User Group business, Adobe, Cisco, John Deere, IBM, and SAS presented examples of use cases from their acrolinx IQTM deployments. There were also detailed discussions of future developments and best practice in and around the subject of Information Quality and Information Lifecycle Management.

acrolinx CEO Andrew Bredenkamp and other members of the acrolinx team presented the latest advances in acrolinx IQTM, especially in the areas of Enterprise Terminology Management and Intelligent Reuse.

 "Our user community has always played a very significant role in influencing our direction." explained Andrew Bredenkamp, CEO of acrolinx. "For me, it was a fantastic opportunity not only to hear such positive feedback on large-scale deployments, but also to collect a whole load of great ideas from our users - representing some of the smartest companies in the world."

The third day was an open house and networking event, to which local publications and localization managers were invited.  The morning session focused on practical applications of acrolinx technology and included an overview of Information Quality Management principles and practices, followed by Case Studies and Success Stories from Cisco, IBM, and Symantec.

The afternoon session focused on current research in Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics, and Machine Translation technologies, with presentations from Dan Flickinger from CSLI/Stanford University and Hans Uszkoreit from DFKI, Germany. A lively Q & A on future directions for Natural Language Processing applications followed the research session.
