Schema GmbH and acrolinx form a Strategic Partnership
Nuremberg/Berlin. March 9, 2005. More quality for users of Schema ST 4 through integration of acrocheck™, the leading controlled language solutionSchema, vendor of xml-based content management systems for technical information, and acrolinx, vendor of quality assurance tools for technical documentation, announced a technology partnership today. The agreement focuses on integrating acrocheck™ into Schema ST 4. As a result, technical documentation can be produced even more efficiently through a consistent language for authoring. The standardization level of the information is substantially increased, which has a positive effect on information quality and translation efficiency.
Schema ST 4 is an xml-based content and document management system for
complex information. Text and images are managed in media neutral modules
and can therefore be reused in several applications.
Moreover, users of Schema ST 4 achieve a high level of standardization,
which substantially increases their efficiency of documentation production.
By using both ST 4 and acrocheck™ users further increase the standardization
of information and language patterns.
acrocheck™ checks for terminology, style, grammar, and spelling
directly in the source text and makes suggestions for correction.
A system of language rules provides for consistency even if multiple editors
work on the same document independent of each other. Comprehensive terminology
management and context-sensitive language rules make acrocheck™
even more efficient in creating consistent information.
These advantages make the translation process much more efficient: the
availability of standardized document patterns boosts translation memory.
acrocheck™ is fully integrated into the leading editors Arbortext
EPIC, Blast Radius XMetaL, TRADOS TagEditor, and Adobe FrameMaker.
Elisabeth Kraus, the business alliance manager of Schema, comments on
the acrolinx Schema collaboration: ‘by integrating acrocheck into
our content management system Schema ST 4, our customers receive genuine
added value. This value can be seen directly in the process of producing
technical information’
Oliver Collmann, director of business development at acrolinx, adds: ‘Our
common goal of the integration is to further increase customer benefits
of our products.’
