Before Acrolinx, it was challenging for technical writers at DAF Trucks to ensure consistent terminology and tone of voice across all their content. Within Diagnostics, we’d call an item X, and within Parts & Jobs we’d call it Y. But it’s the same technician having access to all the information, which is very confusing. And if you do it wrong in the source language, it will be even worse in the subsequent translations. We want the end user to find a consistent brand language in all of our publications.”
Consistency yields results across the company
DAF Trucks lowers the cost of its translations into up to 24 languages by checking the English source content with Acrolinx. Additionally, Acrolinx ensures the company’s technical content (including warnings) is distinct and legally appropriate.
The positive effects of consistent content are visible in other teams as well; for example, at the Help Desk. If a complaint comes in, the technician now automatically uses the correct terminology, which helps the support team resolve issues faster.
